Bartholin gland cyst

Female genital area, showing a healthy Bartholin gland and a Bartholin gland cyst

On each side of the opening to the vagina, there is a Bartholin gland. These glands produce fluid to lubricate the opening to the vagina. If a Bartholin gland duct becomes blocked, fluid builds up inside the gland, causing a cyst.
