Urinary Incontinence, a Growing Concern Among Women

To talk about it, or not to talk about it?

Well, if you suffer from urinary incontinence, doctors say it’s time to talk.

Though many who struggle with this medical issue are embarrassed to discuss it with their doctors, Valley Baptist Medical Center wants people to know that it can be fixed.

Doctor Magdalena Flores in Brownsville says mostly women suffer from this condition.

“Most people don’t know that there’s a lot of resources,” says Flores. “There’s a lot of things. There’s medical treatments. Sometimes incontinence canbe treated with medications, sometimes you might need surgery.”

Though pregnancy and age may cause this condition for women, men and children also suffer from urinary incontinence.
